Our Vision - 4Rs

Habakkuk 3:2 In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known. (ESV)

Revival is about rekindling our hearts for God, and it is a profound reset for our spiritual lives, helping us reconnect with our core faith and zest for life. It’s kind of a spiritual recharge, helping people reconnect with their faith and purpose. John Wesley said, “I continue to dream and pray about a revival of holiness in our day that moves forth in mission and creates authentic community in which each person can be unleashed through the empowerment of the Spirit to fulfil God’s creational intentions.” Revival brings a ripple effect that affects the soul of a believer in Christ, the family, the church, and society. Revival is a call from God to resume, relate, restore, and reach so we can experience renewed delight and commitment in our faith once more.

Year 1 Sub-theme: Resume

Isaiah 40:31 — “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary.”

“Resume” means to start afresh with renewed energy. Life can be tough, but God promises to give us strength to continue. We can rely on Him to help us move forward in our faith journey, no matter the challenges. John Wesley said, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can.” This reminds us that, as we resume our journey, we are empowered to live out our faith in practical ways.

Year 2 Sub-theme: Relate

John 13:34 — “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
“Relate” is about building strong, loving relationships with others, just as Jesus loves us. Revival is communal: our revival is not simply a matter of me and God, but rather
involves others who shape me and grow with me. Revival happens when we show love to each other in meaningful ways. John Wesley believed in the power of community, saying, “The Bible knows nothing of solitary religion.” We grow spiritually through our relationships and shared faith.

Year 3 Sub-theme: Restore

Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
“Restore” means God can heal and fix what’s broken in our lives. No matter how much we’ve lost, God can restore it—whether it’s our hope, relationships, or joy. John
Wesley taught, “God does nothing but in answer to prayer.” Prayer is the key to seeking God’s restoration, trusting that He can bring new life where there was once
destruction.

Year 4 Sub-theme: Reach

Acts 1:8 — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
“Reach” focuses on sharing our faith with others. As God revives us, we are summoned to reach out and share the good news with all around us, empowered by the Holy Spirit. It encourages believers to be bold in their mission to spread the Gospel of Christ, fulfilling God’s command to reach every corner of the earth with His love. John Wesley said, “The world is my parish… my bounden duty to declare unto all that are willing to hear, the glad tidings of salvation” meaning that we should take the Gospel everywhere, being willing to go beyond our comfort zones to help others find life in Christ.
